‘See It Be It STEM It’ Calendar Launched to Promote STEM

Monday, September 30th, 2019, Guelph, Ontario, Canada
‘See It Be It STEM It’ is an initiative spearheaded by industry leaders that aims to increase the number of women pursuing a career in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The initiative was sponsored by a diverse group of industry supporters from manufacturing to consulting, energy storage to financial institutions reflecting the broad need for STEM grads in a wide variety of sectors.
"We are showcasing smart, successful, talented women who we think will be really inspiring to young women who are considering a career in STEM and want to see what options are out there," said Linda Hasenfratz, CEO of Linamar Corporation.
“Our goal with this initiative, which includes a calendar as well as a comprehensive digital and social media strategy, is to inspire young women into a STEM career by highlighting some of the many incredible women out there who happen to be scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians who are doing some fantastic things” says Linda.
The calendar features a diverse group of women from different educational backgrounds and professions who have taken skills that they have learned in their STEM education and driven them into a variety of exciting directions. In addition the website will feature many more role models of inspirational women who have built rewarding careers on their love of STEM.
The second annual ‘See It Be It STEM It’ campaign launch event will take place today, September 30th, 2018, in Guelph, Ontario after which the calendars will be distributed and the website will go live.
